City accepting applications for Police Officers

The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners is accepting applications at the Kewanee Police Department, 401 E. Third Street, Kewanee, Illinois 61443, for testing to create eligibility register for the entry-level position of Police Officer.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:  21 to under 35 years of age, unless exempt from such age limitations by statute; US citizen or lawful resident as provided for in the rules of the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners; a high school graduate or the equivalent; must reside within 15 miles of the City of Kewanee within 6 months of appointment; good physical condition; and other qualifications which are listed in the application packet available at the Kewanee Police Department.  Other components of the testing process include an initial background investigation, power test, written examination, oral examination, polygraph, psychological examination and pre-employment physical testing.

Those candidates whose applications are accepted will receive notification of the testing dates and times.  Tentative test date is April 22, 2017.  Attendance and a passing score are mandatory for all phases of testing in order to be eligible for subsequent testing components.  The City of Kewanee is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug Free Workplace.

Deadline:  Completed applications, with original signatures, must be received at the above referenced location by no later than 4:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2017.
