The Public Works Department is committed to enhancing the quality of life for City residents by maintaining the infrastructure in the City and providing high quality services to residents, businesses, and visitors.

Our department provides services through five operating divisions:

For an organization to be successful, it must clearly understand its purpose, its objectives, and what should be the vision of each member of the organization.  These are the elements of a mission statement for the department and a bench mark for success.  The Mission Statement for the Kewanee Public Works Department is as follows:
     

"Providing good stewardship of the public infrastructure and equipment safely through competitive services and excellent customer relations."

We acknowledge that the safety and comfort of the residents, businesses, and visitors of the City of Kewanee is the primary purpose of our Department and to them we commit our efforts to attain each goal with pride, sensitivity and fiscal constraint.
