There are four (4) Outdoor Warning System stations within Kewanee. They are located at:
Railroad Ave & See St
West Fifth St & Park St
Emmons Ave & Dwight St
West Church St & Bronson St
The sirens are checked for proper operation on the first Tuesday of every month.
Contact the ESDA Coordinator at 309-852-2611 ext 267. Be sure to leave your name, address and phone number along with the siren location.
Remember, the sirens are OUTDOOR warning sirens they are designed to warn people who are outdoors of potential severe weather.
Most importantly you should have a NOAA weather radio with battery back-up. Most NOAA weather radios will alarm just like a smoke detector when there is a severe weather watch or warning. You should also listen to local radio and/or TV broadcasts for information.
