With current and upcoming cold temperatures, the City of Kewanee would like to remind residents about the potential for freezing water pipes. As a precaution, residents can leave water running at a drip to faucets, especially to colder areas of the home. Leaving cabinet doors open to increase heat from the house, can also help keep the pipe areas and fixtures warm. Residents are reminded, that if they choose to run water as a precaution, it will count as water used on their water bill; however the extra usage may be less expensive than a plumbing repair.
