Francis Park

3 miles east of Kewanee, the unique home of Frederick Francis was built in 1890 out of brick, stone and native wood. The house features disappearing doors and windows, an air cooling system, radiant heat deflectors in the fireplace chimney, and running water, all without the benefit of electricity. The park also sports camping sites, a shelterhouse, picnic facilities, playgrounds, and a baseball diamond. Admission for the Woodland Palace is $2 for adults, $1 for children 5 -12, children under 5 are free. Francis Park Campground will be open for the season beginning April 25, 2014. Woodland Palace is now giving tours noon to 4 PM, Monday-Friday, with the last tour starting at 3 PM, and weekends by appointment.

NOTE: SHELTER RESERVATIONS ARE NOT GUARNTEED UNTIL PAYMENT IS RECEIVED. ALL CAMPING IS FIRST COME FIRST SERVED.
