The Kewanee Police Department actively participates in the Henry County Special Operations Squad (S.O.S), a collaborative effort that brings together specially trained and handpicked officers from our department, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the Stark County Sheriff's and other law enforcement agencies within Henry County. The core mission of the S.O.S. is to provide tactical support to Henry and Stark County agencies during critical incidents, including armed or suicidal individuals, barricaded subjects, high-risk warrant operations, and hostage scenarios. The S.O.S. team emphasizes the use of strategic tactics and contingency planning to ensure a range of options for achieving successful resolutions in any situation they confront. These dedicated S.O.S. members engage in rigorous training sessions twice a month and are equipped with specialized weaponry and gear to fulfill their vital roles
